A little note from the Little Ballerinas
Founder, Creative Director (& of course also Teacher)
~ Trish Denzel
Hello,
Welcome to Little Ballerinas and thank you for choosing Little Ballerinas as your dance school for your child.
I hope they are excited!
My name is Trish Denzel and as a professional dance educator of 22 years, qualified with teaching degrees/certificates from:
1) Bachelor of Applied Arts (Dance)/Bachelor of Education UNSW
2) Master Teacher in Leap 'N Learn
{Early Childhood Dance - New York City}
3) FATD {Federal Association Teachers of Dancing}
4) Licensed and qualified Yoga to Go Kids teacher
I have the optimum skills and experience in developing a nurturing, knowledgeable and fun learning environment and program for your child.....and I simply love teaching children this age and engaging them in a creative environment.
Having studied and been examined in all genres of dance; RAD Classical Ballet, FATD Jazz and Tap, Modern Expressive, Hip Hop and Character under the guidance of June Harlow and Sue O'Riordan, I began my Teacher Qualifications in 1992 being awarded with Honours with Distinction and I began my teaching career.
With a new Dance Degree on offer at the University of New South Wales, I was accepted through audition into the course in 1995 and gained a wealth of knowledge in Dance Pedagogy & engaged in technical contemporary & ballet classes with leading dance professionals David Spurgeon, Rebecca Greg, Patrick Harding-Irmer, Margaret Chapple, Sue Healey & Georgia Shepherd to name a few.
I subsequently taught Dance as a subject in a Sutherland Shire High School for many years to year 7 - 12 students in the targeted program and as a HSC marker. I hold years of experience in choreography and productions with students in State Dance Festival, Schools Spectacular, Sydney Regional Festival and State Dance Camps, with many of my students also being selected into State Dance Companies and Ensembles. For a few years during this time I was the Regional choreographer and teacher for the St George & Sutherland students. During this time I continued to teach dance classes externally to students aged 3 years to adults, preparing them for exams, eistedfodds and performances.
I hold Master Teacher Leap 'N Learn qualifications, an Early Childhood dance course I completed in New York.
With additional industry experience gained working for arts organisations including Ensemble Theatre at Kirribilli and Brent Street at The Entertainment Quarter as the Course Advisor, I hold the performing arts; especially dance, very close to my heart.
I look forward to meeting and teaching all the children that become a part of the Little Ballerinas family.
Kind regards,
Miss Trish
