Petite Ballerinas {Dance with me}
Adults participating in this class - just wear comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes please. LOCAL STORES TO PURCHASE ballets, ballet stockings and wraps. * Bloch at Miranda (on the Kingsway) * Beat Street Dance Wear - Carlton * Daisy Dancewear - Engadine Hair: As kids are kids - our little ballerinas are welcome to come to class with their however they like it. Pigtails, ponytails, plaits, buns, with clips, with headbands....it's up to you and them! They are there to dance....not for parents to have to find a way to get them to sit still for half an hour beforehand trying to get their hair into a compulsory bun. "I noticed a post on another Facebook business page tonight and the owner was asking for advice/tips for doing her 4yr old’s bun for a ballet concert coming up. There were quite a few comments and the general tone was of these poor Mum’s stressing out about the bun being “to standards” and experiences where the child’s bun had been removed when they arrived and re-done by the ballet teacher. Then the talk of mousse, gel, spray, getting them to sit still to do their hair, tying / pinning as tight as possible etc etc etc. Quite horrendous really at that age. Makes me extremely grateful that Little Ballerinas don’t put that kind of pressure on kids that age or the Mums!" Bree - Scarlett & Ruby's Mum |
